I have been a devotee of Corona and still have a 40 year old "made in Switzerland" hand pruner inherited from my dad. But it has a broken blade...not able to find a replacement. And the new Corona's are just not in the same league as my old one. So this entry model F-5 Felco looked like a good choice especially at a price under $20.
The PROS for the Felco F-5:
1. Simple, strong, bullet proof construction. No parts coming loose and falling off like many of the current hand pruners being sold.
2. Easily handles the occasional heavy cuts that would break or severly challenge all other hand pruners I have tried.
3. The Red handle. I will never own hand pruners that do not have a bright Red, Red-Orange or Orange handle. In real life I deliberately drop or set my pruner down to clear cuttings out of the way. I tried a holster but for me it was a nuisance, especially when I was working and manuevering in heavy landscaping. It seems most hand pruner manufacturers have taken to emphacizing style over function...using sophisticated colors like various shades of green, maroon and even black. Needless to say these colors can "disappear" your pruner if you drop it or lay it down.

CONS - None to date

In summary I am very impressed with my new Felco and am now considering getting one of their more expensive "made in Switzerland" models. I always like to keep extra hand pruners in each of my vehicles "just in case". -- BUILT FOR SERIOUS WORK

My grandparents are hardcore lawn and plant maintenance people. Grandma said she wanted new shears for Christmas because her old ones were pretty much destroyed. These are a little expensive, but any bought for less fall apart. They are truly the best in the business. Not much you can do to destroy these except melt them with thermite. -- Grandma pleaser

I bought these after losing my old ones, which had black handles and were hard to spot when misplaced. The Felco shears are of high quality and cut "like butta". I couldn't be happier with their performance. Buy 'em - you won't be disappointed. The red rubber handles also make them easy to keep track of. -- Great Product

I have used Felco products for years and this new pruner is very good. I love the replaceable springs and blades so if you happen to damage them, you eed not buy a new pair. -- A good product at a good price
