I bought these almost 10 years ago and have used them every year on my orchard and home property. They do the job and hold up under tough conditions. I thought the wood handles might not take the stress, but they are as strong as ever. They are a bit lighter than other handles, but that is a GOOD thing after an hour of pruning. The rubber bumper is a cushion for the shock when you get through a limb. It is replaceable.
After nine years, my loppers' bumper gave up the ghost and fell off. I called the manufacturer and found out that they guarantee the loppers for life.(Who knew?) They sent me a replacement bumper and rivet to repair FOR FREE. They are as good as new. While on the phone, the customer service rep. said if I couldn't repair the loppers myself, they would probably have to REPLACE them for me. All this and courteous, fluent English? How many companies do you know that stand behind their product so well?
I would buy another set if I ever lost these, but I won't have to replace them for poor performance. -- Great loppers from Fiskars
